Responsibilities Under the overall strategic direction of the HFHS CNEC and the day to day management of IT, this individual will optimize and standardize the use of the Enterprise Nurse Scheduling and Patient Classification System across the Health System.
Additionally, this individual will facilitate and coordinate the ongoing Implementations and Support required to maintain this application.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Individual is responsible for standardization and optimization of the Nurse Scheduling and Patient Classification System across the Health System.
Individual must take ownership of the Patient Classification Scheduling System application administrative functions such as tracking of technical issues submitted to the vendor, submission and prioritization of enhancement requests, quarterly upgrades, payroll change requests, system testing where needed for upgrades and changes, new implementations, new unit adds, cost center changes, interface maintenance, monthly meetings between vendor and customer, and status updates to CNEC.
Serve as the initial and primary contact for issues specific to the Patient Classification Scheduling system, operations for both, scheduling staff and other professional end users.
Provides primary ongoing application support for departmental application systems, but does not take on typical I.T. responsibilities (i.e. desktop support, loading of software, etc).
Works with department leadership to design and implement process changes to ensure optimum use of all the functionalities of the Patient Classification Scheduling System.
Creates and maintains documentation on processes surrounding Scheduling, Classification Guidelines, and Budget Management and Reporting (including training materials, reference guides, workflows and web page management).
Participates with HFHS system administrators and IT Departmental Project Manager in preparation for new releases, developing test plans, coordinating moves to production, testing and training with the HFHS individual Satellite and Community Hospital.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Registered Nurse with at least two years of experience in Nurse Scheduling, Patient Acuities, Staff and Budget Management preferred.
Must be able to navigate and operate MS suite of Windows applications including Access, knowledge of basic application build and configuration.
Interest in learning and expanding computer knowledge and skills. Must possess excellent communication skills with clinical and non-clinical staff.
Associates Degree required. Bachelor's preferred.
Michigan Licensure for Registered Nurse with two years management experience preferred.
