JOB DESCRIPTION:
Our Direct Client needs to fill a 6-month Senior Software Developer position. The candidates with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities will need to start ASAP.
WORK SUMMARY:
The candidates filling the Senior Developer positions will be responsible for developing and troubleshooting high quality, distributed and scalable applications using Java and XML technologies.
Candidates will be involved in the full system lifecycle, including system design, development, testing and production support of the innovative items support in iBT system.
Candidates will also be responsible for creating requirements/technical specifications/use cases and automated test cases using JUnit framework.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate expertise in using multiple programming/scripting languages.
The Candidates are expected to rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish project goals.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
RESPONSBILITIES:
The ideal candidates will be responsible for:
Participating in design/architecture meetings.
Applying industry standard analysis, architecture, and development techniques, including Use Cases where appropriate, to assist in providing optimum solutions.
IBT Browser Development Efforts' design, coding, testing, debugging, quality assurance review, and appropriate documentation.
Demonstrating strong problem solving ability, logic, and analytical skills.
Interacting with other areas within client for providing automated interface points via web services and other technologies.
Strong written and oral communication skills are a must.
Maintaining team spirit and a positive attitude.
Performing comprehensive preliminary testing and producing all entrance criteria documentation required to promote
products under development to Software Test (ST).
REQUIRED SKILLS:
A candidate should be a Bachelor's degree with extensive coursework in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
Must have at least 8-10 years of progressively diverse analysis, development, and testing experience using Java and XML technologies.
Must demonstrate strong knowledge and experience with the responsibilities outlined above.
Must have significant experience with technologies listed below.
Strong experience in Java, JFC/Swing and AWT, XML technologies- SAX, DOM, XML/XSD and other schema driven data.
Experience with LDAP and UNIX shell scripting.
Experience in unit testing using the JUnit Framework, scripting languages (JavaScript),markup languages (XML, HTML, and CSS), development/build tools and libraries: Eclipse, Ant, Log4J, VSS, SVN, IntelliJ and Cruise Control and J2EE technologies.
Experience managing and configuring a Java application servers, including packaging and deploying applications preferred
Experience with JRun and JBoss application servers preferred.
Good interpersonal skills and experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
