Aircraft Mechanic II UH60 Helicopter is responsible for daily-periodic aircraft inspections, troubleshooting, and functional test checks, repair overhaul, rework and maintenance of aircraft. Required to locate, diagnose, and correct various avionics, hydraulic, electrical, rotor, engine and utility system malfunctions on supported aircraft in accordance with OEM, Company, and customer (mil-std) specifications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Proactively performs field and sustainment level aviation maintenance support level services.
2. Licensed to operate, and maintain Aviation Ground Support Equipment (GSE), Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE).
3. Performs daily, special, calendar, special, PMS, and hourly aircraft inspections. Enters aircraft faults or deficiencies into manual or automated logbooks. Performs man hour work estimates, determines HAZMAT usage, and bench-stock requirements commensurate with the customer's mission and flying-hour program.
4. Troubleshoots malfunctions on aircraft structures, landing gear, flight control surfaces, tail-booms, rotor blades, engines, anti-icing systems, hydraulic systems, auxiliary power units, and heating-ventilation systems.
5. Orders repair parts, submit oil samples, and completes aircraft forms and records error free.
6. Performs ""safe"" AVUM, AVIM repairs, replacements, of components associated with avionics, electrical, battery, armament, engine, prop-rotor, sheet metal, and power-train shop operations.

7. Safely uses special tools, micrometers, torque wrenches, dial indicators, depth gages, and other pertinent TMDE devices. May assist in performing NDI (Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, Dye-Penetrant, and Magnetic-Particle) testing. Required to use and safely operate equipment, or use power tools, band-saw, drill presses, shears, sheet metal brake, lathe, welding equipment, rivet gun, and air actuated equipment.
8. Must read, interpret OEM, manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, advisory directives, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
9. Must access web based sources to download various aircraft technical references, and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM) to perform by-the book Mil-Std aircraft maintenance.
10. Performs team-lead functions when performing calendar/hourly scheduled Preventive Maintenance Services (PMS), phase, periodic, and 100-hour inspections on UH60 aircraft.
11. Also performs all unscheduled, calendar, and hourly AVUM, AVIM and approved DEPOT level maintenance services on supported aircraft.
12. Participates in recovery operations for downed aircraft.
13. Participates in corrosion preventive control program, weight lifting devices program, foreign object damage/elimination (FOD) program, safety-OSHA program, and fall protection program as per technical reference specified by the company and the US Government in this contract (AR 95-20, DA PAM 738-751, TC 3-04.7, AR 385-95 series, IETMs, and Ground Operations Procedures (GOP).
14. Required to modify, reverse engineer pertinent aircraft parts or components authorized by AMCOM engineering for all make-model type aircraft supported as per the current contract.
15. Safely tow aircraft, and operate all powered and non-powered AGE/GSE and shop-hangar equipment associated with aviation maintenance services that are noted in this job description.
16. Mitigate risk, project a sense of urgency, maintain situational awareness, stay cognitive, and remain focused when executing task, mission requirements.
17. Uses chain of command to inform Aviation Facility Manager or Program Manager of any and all irregularities.
18. Required to provide own common hand-tools and be FOD compliant by implementing quick-scanning processes for tool accountability.
19. Knowledge of HAZMAT procedures when using and disposing of hazardous materials and hazardous waste products.
20. Responsible for practicing good housekeeping, energy conservation and safety precautions at all times.
21. Provides outstanding customer service 24/7. Maintain high standards.
22. Must provide and wear safety steel toe shoes, wear a company issued safety lumbar support belt and respirator mask when required and company provided chemical personal protection equipment when using the parts washer or working in hazardous conditions; company provided hearing and eye protection when using machinery, and hard hat when required.
23. Participate in training, safety events as required.
24. Aircraft Mechanic II reports directly to the Aircraft Mechanic III for work instruction.
25. Will perform other related duties as assigned. The Company reserves the right to change duties as requirements dictate.



Basic Qualifications:
Requires High School Diploma or equivalent (GED); graduate from an applicable technical school is desired; provide copy of DD Form 214 or training certificate with course titles and dates of completion. Two recent years of hands on aviation maintenance experience, excellent understanding of aircraft operations/repair and related services. Must have experience in aviation field and sustainment level maintenance. Must have an understanding of all TMDE applications associated with aviation maintenance. Must have an understanding of aircraft avionics, hydraulic, electrical, airframe, aviation life support, aircraft survivability equipment, armament, power train, rotor, power plant and NDI (UT-MT-PT-ET) inspection methods. Must understand and implement all aspects of OSHA, aviation safety, for confined spaces, fall protection, corrosion prevention control, weight lifting devices and TMDE programs as per TC 3-04.7 Army Aviation Maintenance. Comply with Ground Operations Procedures (GOP) as per AR 95-20.

SKILL REQUIREMENT
• Must be able to read, write, interpret and explain technical data.
• Must possess basic computer skills to perform maintenance aircraft actions, update automated logbooks, annotate historical records, and comply with safety of flight messages. Ability to relate to customers in a professional manner; understand basic mathematics; work as part of the team; work independently and attention to detail.
• Understand concepts of Army aviation activities performing AVUM, AVIM and DEPOT level maintenance services.
• Understanding of all Test Measuring and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) applications associated with aviation maintenance.
• Understanding of aircraft avionics, hydraulic, electrical, airframe, aviation life support, aircraft survivability equipment, armament power train, rotor and power-plant.
• Understand all aspects of aviation safety.
• Must possess a valid driver's license, attend/complete accident avoidance awareness training online and be able to obtain a military operator's permit for each type of vehicle or equipment required to operate in supporting aircraft maintenance operations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Must pass medical physical as per AR 95-20 Para. 5.2, have normal color vision, and pass pulmonary tests for wear and use of respirator.
• Must be free of medical restrictions/limitations that prevent performance of the required duties.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally work outside.
• Must be able to remain standing on one's feet in an upright position.
• Must be able to seize, hold, grasp and otherwise work with one's hands.
• Must be able to operate associated machinery and drive vehicles on flight-line and public roads.
• Must be able to make frequent, repetitive twisting, bending movements and able to climb on top of aircraft, access confined spaces and work in conditions of extreme temperatures.
• May be required to assist at other job sites as needed, work uncommon hours of duty, extended hours, nights, weekends, holidays and away from home station.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.

SECURITY CLEARANCE
Must be a US Citizen and hold or be capable of maintaining a SECRET Security Clearance.
