Job description Security Systems Administrator, Global Security Position Summary Apple is seeking an exceptional Systems Administrator to join its Global Security team. This is a highly technical, hands-on role in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This person will coordinate the configuration and operations of personal computers, computer networks and servers for our remote location in North Carolina. (*add "for our corporate headquarters" for the SCV position) Primary Responsibilities As a member of the Global Security team, responsibilities include: Investigate user problems, identify their source and determine possible solutions. Test and implement solutions. Setup and troubleshoot networks at remote sites. Troubleshoot networks, systems and applications to identify and correct issues. Ensure timely user notification of maintenance requirements and effects on system availability. Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored and accessed by the network. Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
Desired Skills and Qualifications B.S. or equivalent preferred with deep expertise in Sun Solaris, OS X and Windows. Proven experience in building and maintaining a systems infrastructure. Experience with CCTV, access control, systems and key management systems. Solid understanding of IT and IS principles. Ability to deal tactfully with the public and others and ensure that Apple's philosophy of excellent customer service is understood and carried out in all forms of communication. Ability to maintain composure, command the confidence of others, exercise good judgment, be flexible, and work quickly and accurately under pressure and in emergency situations. Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills. Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate systems-related concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. A dependable team player with business maturity, enthusiasm and a positive attitude. Proficient in using technology, computers and software programs. Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes extended hours, weekends and holidays. Up to 10% travel as necessary.
