Description

Be a part of the most highly regarded, easily accessible market and product knowledge team in the energy software industry. Your understanding of how our clients do business, of what role our products play in that business and your ability to explain it anyone, anywhere, at anytime will be paramount. You will work individually and within a team of expert software professionals to respond to specific customer needs and be a key liaison to Ventyx Analytics software customers. You will work directly with clients from our Atlanta Center of Excellence and will occasionally travel to the client site.
You will work independently on highly complex projects, will be given extensive latitude for personal judgment and will be encouraged to help your peers grow their knowledge. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the Analytics, Market Simulation and/or Portfolio Optimization fields, will have exceptional analytical and problem solving skills and have the ability to communicate effectively with client personnel. Typically requires 10 to 14 years of experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
Product Expertise
· Deliver extensive Industry and Software expertise for Analytics products. Help customers identify and resolve problems, provide guidance and help those customers achieve their desired result.
· Ensure that customers always reach extremely knowledgeable resources and are impressed with every interaction.
· Develop and maintain product expertise as new features of the Analytics product suite are introduced.
Problem Solving and Functional Awareness
· Combine your industry/product expertise and technical understanding in order to quickly identify issues and render solutions.
· Must be able to quickly assess the problem at hand and understand how important or unimportant the particular issue is to the client all while keeping the big picture in mind.
Client Communication and Issue Resolution
· Provide an outstanding customer experience at all times - live & breathe client satisfaction.
· Be the customer’s advocate/champion – represent their needs/concerns - inside of Ventyx.
· Receive and respond promptly to all customer inquiries (web based requests, phone calls and emails) from Ventyx’s Atlanta Center of Excellence.
· Understand, troubleshoot, analyze and resolve the software issues/questions reported by clients and internal implementation staff.
· Engage internal product management and development teams as necessary to resolve issues.
· Ensure that customer inquiries/concerns are resolved in a timely manner.
· Build strong relationships with both client and Ventyx on-site personnel – make every client experience
· Typical work schedule is 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Eastern Prevailing Time; Possibility of rotating after-hours support responsibility.
Global Client Services Initiatives
· Participate in and lead internal initiatives within the Client Services Group.
· Assist in the preparation for and attend the Ventyx Mindshare.
Status Reporting
· Create internal status reports that will be distributed to the software development management team and clients.
· Attend weekly Client Services status meetings and weekly conference calls with development teams.
· Proactively communicate the status of high-priority issues.
Technical Skills
· Be able to support software utilizing a variety of technologies. Preferred technologies include (in descending order of preference):
· Oracle PL/SQL and Java client server systems
· Experience working on packaged software products
· XML, XSLT, DTDs and XML Schemas

General Qualifications:
· Excellent communication, presentation, and problem solving skills.
· Occasional travel required.
· Professional appearance required.
Education and/or Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and at least 10 years of experience required.
· Graduate level education (Masters or PHD) strongly desired. Quantitative, finance, modeling experience a plus.
· Preference will be given to candidates with experience with:
o PROMOD/PowerBase
o Market Analytics
o SystemOptimizer
o Planning and Risk
o Market Power
o Strategist
o Or other power generation, power market price projection, power market analysis or transmission analysis software experience.
. Language Skills:
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as software design documentation, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to write precisely and clearly.
· Ability to generate routine reports and correspondence.
· Ability to speak clearly and effectively over the phone, present to groups of customers or employees of organization.


Reasoning Ability:
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
