The Senior IT Business Analyst's primary responsibility is to document the technology needs of the business unit (Marketing) in a way that enables the Technical Architects and Developers to formulate the best functional system requirements for the situation. The Senior IT Business Analyst bridges the gap between concepts and ideas in the mind of Marketing business leaders, and IT professionals tasked with designing and building systems. The primary deliverable of the Senior IT Business Analyst is the classic * Business Requirements Document * found in most typical SDLC processes. A senior IT business analyst works as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, document, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems. The Senior IT Business Analyst understands business problems and data challenges within the Marketing organization and industry. The Senor IT Business Analyst also establishes relationships within the business area (Marketing) to identify opportunities and recommends projects that will enable the organization to achieve its strategic goals.
Responsibilities:

Contributes ideas and leadership in team situations · Ability to work with others to arrive at consensus · Strong presentation skills · Possess an understanding of application development, database design and system design · Possess an understanding of Internet, Intranet and web-based client/server architecture · Strong desire to learn, grow and constantly face new challenges · Critically analyze complex core business processes and apply best-practices to achieve significant business results · Work with business users and managers as the technology expert and process analyst in all project situations · Apply principles of organizational dynamics and change management in analysis and design situations, as appropriate · Analyze significant multi-departmental, core business processes and apply knowledge of best-practices to reengineer and achieve significant business objectives · Master and improve the SDLC, including: o Assist in improving analysis techniques and tailoring best practices for our organization o Assist in the improvement of documentation procedures and standards · Learn and master the technical and business environments of Marketing · Work with senior managers and executives as a strategic partner in achieving Marketing goals · Bring creativity and problem-solving expertise to solve critical problems on most significant projects · Display the highest level of professionalism in all activities. Act as a model for peers and more junior staff
· 8 years of relevant experience in an IT organization working with a Marketing organization with a minimum of 5 years as a business analyst working on application development projects · Experience in technology areas directly appropriate to systems environment, plus deep expertise in at least one or more technology areas · Thorough knowledge and understanding of business principles, process and technology (MBA equivalent) · Prior project management experience desired · Deep understanding of several areas of the technology marketplace and how different technologies can be applied to achieve significant business results · Understanding of technology directions, trends, and strategic business impact of key IT initiatives · Strong understanding of programming structures and application design techniques · Strong understanding of major business principles, processes and technologies, plus deep understanding of business principles in Marketing · Exceptional team skills. Sees mentoring junior members as a primary team role. Effectively elicits the participation and ideas of junior team members · Displays exceptional verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills · Ability to build consensus at the senior manager level on complex, politicized issues · Ability to present effectively and persuasively at all levels of the organization · Demonstrated aptitude for creativity and complex problem-solving · Ability to develop structured approaches to solve problems; formalizing plans to address issues · Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables · Strong desire to learn, grow and constantly face new challenges
Education:
· Bachelors Degree in Business, Computer Sciences, Engineering or equivalent required · MBA or MA in Computer Sciences, Engineering strongly desired · Certification in Six Sigma, ITIL, PMP strongly desired
