Roles and Responsibilities
Analyzes complex business problems to be solved with enterprise-wide web-enabled IT systems. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Configures system settings and options; plans and monitors integration and acceptance testing; and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements. Designs details of IT system design. May provide consultation to users in the area of IT systems. May lead cross-functional linked teams to address system configuration changes needed to resolve business issues.
* Documents system requirements * Updates ITIL process documentation as process improvements are designed and implemented * Provides auditable documented evidence of the implemented process improvements * Performs gap analysis to ensure current BI systems adequate to meet business needs. * Completes necessary changes to the database, forms and workflow which are prescribed per design * Determines what business needs will require custom development * Creates regression test plan * Responsible for some of the project management tasks like building project plan, communications to business, IT stakeholders etc. * Strong technical writing, communication and negotiation skills as an experienced business analyst with an understanding of industry practices; * Resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. * Should have exposure and working experience with Dimensional Modeling, Start/snow flake Schemas, SQL, PL/SQL and aggregations. * Able to use Microsoft Visio and Word. * Good exposure to ETL tools like informatica, data mapping from source to target reporting structure. * Prior experience with OLAP tools such as Analysis Services or Essbase. * Deep understanding on relations between functional data domains like Finance, Sales, Marketing and 3rd party data.
