Responsibilities:
Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. Evaluates the internal technical needs of the organization and assesses available technologies. Works in all phases of systems analysis and considers the business implications of the application of technology to current business environment.
Specific Responsibilities:
* Consult with personnel to identify and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, data scope, usage formatting and security requirements.
* Create detailed technical specifications and data models for development of new or modifications to existing internal applications or systems.
* Serve as liaison between internal departments and development team.
* Provide application expertise in support of expanding deployment of the company system and related applications.
* Develop and coordinate plans to test business and functional processes during system development and QA testing. Analyze testing results to ensure technology solution matches the organization's business needs.
* Monitor and document post-implementation problems and revision requests. Qualifications:
* Bachelor degree required; MBA or MS a plus
* 4+ years experience in the IT development field, preferably with full life cycle development experience.
* 4+ years experience in creating technical and functional specifications for business or financial application systems.
* Expert writing skills for technical and business requirements for a variety of technical and non-technical user communities.
* Proven ability to standardize user cases and utilize UML and basic flowcharting techniques
* Working knowledge of Accounting, Financial or Retail systems desired.
* Proven ability to understand system and business requirements and translate into technical and functional specifications.
* Performs varied work that may be somewhat difficult in character, but usually involves limited responsibility.
* Works on problems and projects of moderate scope and complexity.
* Demonstrates a broad working knowledge of discipline-specific principles.
* Interprets policy and exercises discretion and independent judgment on most tasks.
* Ability to work under broad supervision of manager.
* Good communication skills (verbal and written).
* Proven ability to be organized, multi-task and self-starter.
