Senior Data Analyst, Programming

Under minimal direction, identifies, implements and supports new technologies while leveraging the existing infrastructure to provide 24x7 operational support that enable MST business units to maintain web based information management systems. Provides hands on assistance with support for those project teams implementing critical E-Commerce systems in support of Macys strategic initiatives. Mentors other team members on technology and processes. This position is part of a team that is staffed 24x7, 365 days a year to provide operational support for Macy's Ecommerce systems.

(DEVELOPMENT TEAM MEMBER OR DEVELOPMENT LEAD)
For moderately to highly complex projects:
1. Establishes technical design goals based on customer requirements and explores design options to help define and coordinate project scope.
2. Researches existing software components and technology, explores design and infrastructure options, and recommends solutions based on customer requirements. Promotes system reuse by using process templates and application layering techniques.
3. Translates customer requirements into functional specifications and develops the conceptual, logical, and physical data models to integrate solutions into the existing infrastructure.
4. Estimates time and work effort to build and stabilize systems for new projects, enhancements, and maintenance according to specifications, and builds and manages the project plan/schedule.
5. Designs, builds, codes, or modifies highly complex systems.
6. Performs or leads/manages data conversions and pre-populates reporting databases.
7. Prepares the product for deployment and works with the operational teams and user advocates to ensure an efficient deployment, rollout, and migration.
8. Tracks the deployment progress, evaluates the technical implementation, coordinates team activities, and researches and resolves any implementation or production problems in a timely manner.
9. Researches and resolves any implementation or production problems in a timely manner.
10. Identifies technical and operational risks associated with all phases of development of new systems and modifications of existing systems.
11. Prepares documentation on all phases of development of new systems and modification of existing systems.
12. May serve as primary system support for two or more complex information systems based on in-depth system knowledge.
13. May be responsible for training, mentoring, directing, and validating the work of other programmer analysts.
14. May participate in the ""on call"" rotation program as needed.
15. Keeps management well informed on a timely basis of progress, status, and concerns for each assignment.
