Senior Data Conversion Technical Analyst
Title: Senior Data Conversion Technical Analyst Location: VA-Fairfax Duties and Responsibilities: CACI will develop data conversion routines and scripts to migrate the financial management assets of a large Federal agency within the U.S. Government from the agency's legacy mainframe based Federal Financial System (FFS) to the Momentum Financials application, a COTS financial management system from CGI for Defense and Federal agencies. We are looking for candidates with strong development skills and the desire to advance their skills in a challenging environment to help design and build these conversion routines and scripts and execute them to convert the financial data from FFS to Momentum. Responsibilities include: * Understand the Migration Requirements * Work with Business Analysts to help analyze the data migration requirements and formulate sound strategy in implementing them * Work with Technical Analysts/Programmer Analyst staff to translate the requirements into a sound design * Supervise and coordinate the activities of data conversion technical team - manage task assignments so that activities are completed as required by the overall project schedule * Configure, tailor, or extend existing data conversion/migration processes. Where necessary, build data migration processes and scripts with a focus on complex data translation and synchronization * Coordinate migration system and acceptance testing activities, including issue resolution so that tasks are completed in timely manner * Coordinate migration dry runs and their impact on ongoing project implementation activities. Oversee production data migration * Work with development staff and Technical Documentation staff to ensure completion of all required data conversion documentation * Mentor and train junior staff by sharing best practices and lessons learned from past implementation efforts * Candidate might identify process improvement opportunities Required Qualifications: * Seven to nine years of experience in software development including a strong knowledge of Oracle, SQL. * Three or more years of experience in data conversion efforts. * Strong communication skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage activities of a team is required. * Candidate should exhibit a superior degree of discretion and autonomy. * Typically requires bachelor's degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and seven to nine years of related experience. Desired Qualifications: * Experience in supporting large-scale data conversions is desired. Previous experience with Momentum Financials or FFS is desired. * Experience in building or maintaining applications on IBM mainframes that used COBOL, SAS, CICS, VSAM, JCL, VSAM will be a plus. * Previous experience in converting financial management systems for government agencies will be a plus. null
