Role: The Senior Database Administrator will be part of a team responsible for Enterprise Database Management maintaining the Infrastructure and Applications from a database perspective. This team is responsible for supporting the development, testing and production environments for Oracle, MS SQL Server, Postgres, and other relational database technologies. This position can be filled in Jersey City, NJ or Omaha, NE. Responsibilities: * Database installation, upgrade, patch, configuration, backup and maintenance * Physical design and implementation OLTP and Data Warehouse databases * Provide testing and performance tuning support * Deploy and support database components in all DB environments which include DEV, TEST, PROD and DR * Monitor all database environments * Provide 24x7 rotation supports and as needed * Develop scripts to automate routine and repetitive database administration tasks * Implement logical and physical data models at the project level * Coordinating DDL changes; QA support; and the production implementation of all DB changes * Assist with database/application migrations, disaster recovery scenarios, and server upgrades whenever feasible Experience: Requirements: * Self starter with minimum supervision. * 5+ years knowledge of Oracle, MS SQL Database administration * Strong Unix and Linux experiences * Oracle Grid Control, RMAN * Data Replication * Experience with IBM Z/Linux is a big plus * Knowledge of the financial industry is a big plus * Experience with Oracle Financial, PeopleSoft are a big plus * Experience with design and implementation of Data Warehouses is a plus * Proven experience in all phases of the software development cycle * Excellent verbal and written communications skills * Ability to work in a remote team environment * Strong interpersonal skills are needed to work well with a talented team of system engineers and developers * Effective time management skills are a must * Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Information Systems, Computer Science or Computer Engineering * Current DBA certifications are a plus TD AMERITRADE is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
