Overall Summary ????Support engineering with routine engineering duties and/or hands-on tasks. Fluency in technologies. Mastery of the shop/laboratory and equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities: * Support systems, hardware and software engineers in the development, documentation, fabrication and testing of prototype and pre-production signals intelligence (SIGINT) and communications systems. * Layout and fabricate fixtures for development and test of prototype systems. * Support introduction of new systems to manufacturing. * Select electrical / electronic system components and initiate purchases for them. * Test, trouble shoot and repair prototype and pre-production circuits and systems. * Set up and test mobile, fixed and portable SIGINT and communications systems. * Support installation, maintenance and trouble shooting of systems at customer sites. * Support manufacturing operations in the troubleshooting and repair of customer returned products. * Design, build, document and install interconnect wiring and harnessing. * Install and test instrumentation in mobile and fixed rack mounted systems.
Basic Qualifications (include education and years of experience required): * Must have ASEE or ASET degree. * 4+ years experience as a technician supporting new product development including trouble shooting analog, digital and closed loop control circuits and systems to component level. * Trained in ESD control techniques. * Experienced in creating Engineering drawings, schematics and parts lists. * Knowledge of basic electronics theory. * Skilled with hand and power tools (power drill, drill press, etc.) * US citizenship required. * Ability to travel 5% of time. * Ability to perform intricate mechanical and electrical assembly.
Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge: · Ability to work with minimal supervision. · Knowledge of RFI / EMI reduction techniques. · IPC certification in soldering, cabling and harnessing. · Some experience with environmental qualification and testing. · Some experience with closed loop servo control systems.
