Seeking a structured data management specialist with a substantial understanding of strategies for optimization of structured data systems. Database Architect / Developer with 4 to 6 years of database design, monitoring and software development experience utilizing MSSQL 2005 & 2008. Collaborates with Software Architect and Software developers to develop and maintain content driven Intelligence Information Sharing Web pages and Applications.
Duties/Responsibilities
? Design, architect data warehouses according to requirements from the business by using tools such as Integration Services, Analysis Services, Reporting Services and OLAP
? Educate business entities on data warehouse design and availability for ad hoc reporting needs.
? Create models for new database development and/or changes.
? Implement schema design of production databases by reviewing product specifications.
? Work with the development leads to develop database architectures, coding standards and quality assurance policy and procedures.
? Provide advice to the Tech/Ops team members on how to optimize queries, database access, maintenance plans, back-ups and replication strategies.
? Manage replication strategies to increase data integrity and contribution to disaster recovery plans.
? Provide guidance to the other members to the development team.
? Create, maintain and enforce strict database release management and change control.
? Create scripts and migration processes for production databases.
? Implement schema and SQL programming source control with Team Foundation Server.
? Evaluate and recommend 3rd Party DBA tools.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
8-10 years of related software development experience
Required Skills:
? 5+ years of database development experience.
? 4+ years experience with SSIS, SSRS, SSAS and BIDS
? Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles and practices.
? Data Warehouse architecture, documentation, construction and maintenance.
? Experience with writing and maintaining SSIS packages.
? Experience with setting up, configuring and maintain SSRS.
? Working knowledge of business KPI Dashboards for visualizing key business performance metrics.
? Strong documentation skills.
? Ability to setup SQL Server on Windows platforms.
Desired Skills:
? Software development with Visual Studio .NET to create and maintain web applications.
? Familiarity with Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2010
? Familiarity with Enterprise Search Technologies (SOLR, Endeca, Autonomy, Vivisimo, etc)
? Familiarity with other Relational and Document database technologies.
? MCITP or MCTS in SQL Server 2008, Database Development
Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Secret Security Clearance.
Must be able to achieve ITIL Foundation Certification within six months of hire.
