Summary of Position: The Senior Financial Systems Specialist will support the creation and execution of the financial systems strategy within Deltek?s Finance organization. The individual in this role will work closely with the Deltek Finance team to understand their business challenges, requirements, and needs and act as a liasion with the IT team to propose, evaluate, and implement solutions. This position requires a highly motivated individual interested in working at a fast paced and growing software company. We are looking for a candidate who is organized, has a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles combined with a background in financial systems and advanced problem solving skills. This position will report to the Director of Financial Systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Identify and document functional and technical opportunities that create efficiencies within finance. * Develop and maintain financial systems architecture diagram. * Support requirement gathering and the related implementation of financial system solutions. * Maintain financial systems and controls to verify integrity of all systems, processes and data. * Manage application security profiles. * Test new processes, applications, upgrades and reporting systems. * Drive process improvement, write and maintain required documentation for all financial systems procedures. * Provide functional training and support to users within Finance. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: * Bachelor?s degree or equivalent. * Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience in accounting and corporate environments. * Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in software implementations * Proficient experience in financial systems, Costpoint, Cognos, and Maconomy preferred
