Honeywell Building Solutions (HBS) is a strategic business unit in Automation and Control Solutions (ACS). HBS installs and maintains the systems to help keep buildings and facilities safe, secure, comfortable and cost-efficient, and is a leading providing of energy efficiency solutions worldwide. HBS specializes in service of critical building systems, including heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), building automation, fire, security and energy management.
Primary Role:
Provide comprehensive application engineering solutions, focusing on Honeywell XL5000 and Tridium AX control systems. Works closely with Team Leader and Project Managers to ensure project cost and schedules are achieved.
Responsibilities:
* Review job contract plans and specifications, survey information, sales sketches, estimates and take-off sheets. Clearly define requirements prior to starting engineering. * Design control system design for building systems, including valve sizing and schedules, damper sizing and schedules, determining DDC controller system sequences and creating control drawings. * Prepare submittals per engineering standards, ensuring commitment dates are met. Review submittals with sales and delivery teams and lead team to obtain hardware submittal approval. * Coaching and mentoring of junior and intermediate engineers / designers * Provide technical assistance to sales team in the analysis and interpretation of job documents and code requirements during the bidding and estimating phase. Recommend equipment applications and provide assistance in writing specifications and technical proposals. * Participate and review engineering estimates following the Estimate Review Process (ERP). * Program software algorithms for building automation system * Determine graphic requirements for building management systems, provide programming to graphic elements within the Building Management User Interface * Manage personal backlog of projects Basic Qualifications
* Completion of an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology * 5 years application engineering experience.
Preferred Qualifications
* Competence with utilizing AutoCAD and Visio * Extensive knowledge of PCs, software, networks, Internet related technologies. * Experience in designing and programming HVAC control systems. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * The ability to interface effectively with clients and contractors. * Strong interpersonal skills. * The ability to work effectively in a team-based environment. * Ability to work in a process driven environment.
