Posting Job Description The Senior Business Analyst (Sr. BA) is the liaison between the Business Stakeholders and Technology Teams for development initiatives. The Sr. BA interacts with these Teams to determine initiative scope, perform business-to-systems analysis and develop the initiating business concept as well as the requirements according to the Synapse Software Development Life Cycle methodology. The Sr. BA supports the IT Team with analysis and requirements clarification during development and assists in testing where appropriate to ensure complete project success.
Responsibilities of Position
. Serve as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate new requirement changes to business processes, policies and information systems
. Understand broad strategic issues to be able to optimize business and application processes, identifying options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitability in support of business objectives
. Prepare detailed Business Requirements/Specifications that may include process flows and use cases as appropriate
. Interface with vendors (e.g. clients, partners, consultants, etc.)
. Provide project planning and tracking estimates
. Transition Project to the Technical Development Team
. Notify management and stakeholders of status issues and changes in project schedule and or scope; preparing Change Request when needed
. Suggest test scenarios and review test plan for completeness when applicable
. Participate in and support the Business during end-user Acceptance testing including creation of How-to-Guides
. Manage Business functional area steering committee meetings, provide status updates on projects and facilitate appropriate ranking and/or re-prioritization of project requests during weekly IT project prioritization meeting
. Provide input and feedback into the PMO process, initiatives' life-cycle, etc. to constantly enhance/improve quality, thru-put, and process; identifying alternate methods to increase efficiencies and improve controls where needed
. Assist business in resolving procedural and functional questions
. Provide on-the-job training to department staff members, acting in a mentoring capacity to provide greater visibility and understanding of the SDLC process based upon expert knowledge of the respective systems and applications
. Support both small and large-scale projects concurrently, producing high-quality deliverables through exceptional time management skills demonstrating the ability to balance and prioritize work responsibilities to exceed stakeholder needs
. Function independently, cognizant of project delivery expectations and commitments
. Facilitate meetings with clients, vendors and business owners to determine and prioritize their business requirements and the impact of these requirements on existing applications and workflows

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
. Bachelor's degree and a minimum of six years prior experience in an IT Business Analyst and/or Systems Analyst capacity
. Excellent work ethic, high degree of professionalism and strong interpersonal skills including negotiation, problem resolution and customer service
. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including the ability to establish goals and set clear expectations, prioritize activities and follow through to completion
. Ability to multi-task, be pro-active in project planning and requirements gathering, set and maintain multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with people regardless of their technical skill set and level of responsibility within the organization
. Skilled in public speaking and document walkthroughs
. Must be flexible with ever changing project priorities, have strong people skills and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment
. Cognizant of current and new technologies and understand/recommend their impact and utilization in the development of existing or new business functionality
. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and Project)
. Desired skills: Database (SQL), Business Objects reporting, Testing (HP Quality Center)
. Desired experience: Direct Marketing, Telemarketing, Order Fulfillment, Publisher Relations, CRM, RFP creation, UI design modeling, exposure to applications using varied and diverse platforms such as web, batch, phone, kiosk, hand-held devices, etc.
