Senior IT Project Manager (Enterprise Solutions)

This is a permanent employment position.

Our client is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager. The Senior IT Project Manager, Enterprise Solutions requires a combination of leadership, project management skills and subject-matter expertise. They must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and team leadership abilities, as well as the capacity to work with cross-functional teams to accomplish overall project goals.

• Maintaining, updating and enforcing the Project Management methodology across all IT projects;
• Providing leadership and mentoring within the PMO including team of internal and external project managers, business analysts, and other project team members;
• Supporting management in the reporting of all projects including status, schedule, budget, and risks;
• Ensuring all project teams meet deliverables for internal clients, management and other IT groups;
• Creating and executing project work plans, setting project timelines, milestones, and deadlines and revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements;
• Identifying and managing project dependencies and critical path;
• Proactively managing changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans;
• Managing day-to-day operational aspects of project and scope including budgets and resources;
• Effectively communicate project expectations and progress to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion;
• Coordinating work with cross-functional team leaders and monitoring and reporting on project status;
• Building, developing, and growing any business relationships vital to the success of the project;
• Identifying resources needed, assigning individual responsibilities and supervising work; and
• Conducting project post mortems and creating a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

Required Skills
• Bachelor's Degree combined with a minimum of 12 - 15 years of IT or project management related experience;
• Experience with SAP is required;
• Strong familiarity with project management software such Microsoft Project;
• Strong written and oral communication skills;
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment;
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in personnel management;
• Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential;
• Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities;
• Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently and flexible during times of change;
• Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines;
• Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating;
• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments;
• Ability to defuse tension among project team, should it arise;
• Ability to bring project to successful completion through political sensitivity;
• Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products;
• Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies;
• Strong analytical and customer service skills.

Desired Skills

• Experience working within the oil and gas industry an asset.
