Senior LAMP Developer
We are seeking a Senior LAMP Application Developer. You will work with our small talented team of developers on a number of large high profile Websites. Collectively our sites reach over 12 million users every month. This role is for a Senior Back-end PHP Developer that will primarily be working on a shared framework that supports all of our client's Web properties. This role will share ownership for core framework as well as a variety of site-level features. The role will be heavily involved in shaping the technical roadmap for our core back-end technology, ensuring that we can scale to meet our aggressively growing selected candidate must have at least 5 years of experience developing on a PHP-based MVC Framework and demonstrate an excellent understanding of Object-Oriented programming. A degree in Computer Science is strongly preferred. The selected candidate must be a conscientious Developer that can build new features; iterate on existing features; write test scripts; unit test their code; and take part in code reviews with other Developers. The selected candidate must be able to profile and optimize code and queries for performance as well as enjoy working in a fast paced environment with small agile development teams. Specific Requirements: * Advanced back-end development experience in PHP 5 and a strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming within an MVC framework* Experience with SPL* Experience configuring and optimizing Memcached on a high volume Website* Experience using and tuning Apache and MySQL* Thorough understanding of general principles of caching and scaling Websites* Basic understanding of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS* Experience working on a Media Website is a plus* A preoccupation with staying on top of industry trends and technologies
