Global Education is the focus of Cisco's efforts to build its future business in education - worldwide and lifelong. We manage the Cisco Education Board, conduct research, produce thought leadership like 'The Learning Society', help specify and design solutions, prototype them with Cisco's most strategically important customers, and work across Cisco to deliver the resultant solutions, services, processes and methodologies into the mainstream business.
Global Education is looking to recruit a leader of its Business Strategy function. Reporting to the Director of Innovation, this person will be responsible for developing Cisco's business strategy in education. They will conducts market sizing, competitive and market trends analysis, business modelling and high-level solution specification. From their base within Global Education, they will work with and influence functions across the company - in development, solution design, ecosystem, corporate development and within priority theatres and countries.
Job scope & reporting: .Reports to Director of Innovation, Global Education .Responsible for small team (1-2 people) conducting business analysis based on global and country-specific market data and technology and technology trends analysis
Key responsibilities: .Work with Education Research & Policy team to determine important trends in education and technology and their implications for Cisco's approach to the education market .Analyze market data to determine the best areas for investment for Cisco - geographies, education subverticals, educational technologies .Use market and technology analysis to advise on the location and focus of Cisco's Global Strategic Accounts .Represent the results of these analyses across Cisco, including to theatres and to the Education Board and Learning Solutions Board .Work with country and solution teams on the development and implementation of their strategies .Advise other groups on education solution development, partnership/investment/acquisition ecosystem strategy and on geographic focuses .Provide strategy and analysis support on education matters across Cisco as appropriate .Develop, refine and analyse metrics on the success of Global Education's business (in concert with Global Education Operations and Global Public Sector Operations).
Skills, qualifications & experience: .Background in working with education policy, strategy, or sales is highly desired- ideally in more than one country .Knowledge of or experience with information technology industry essential .3+ years of experience working in a business strategy role .Quantitative modelling skills essential .Demonstrated ability to use both quantitative and qualitative evidence to identify and analyse trends and recommend on Cisco action .Excellent influence & communication skills .Demonstrated ability to execute complex, cross-functional, technology-centric, high visibility projects .Strong emotional intelligence and ability to work across cultural, country, and functional boundaries .MBA or equivalent analytical Masters Degree strongly preferred
