Job Description: Cisco is seeking a Senior Manager, Database Design & Operation for the Colloboration Software Group to manage and mentor a globally distributed database technical team for good service delivery on all operational tasks and projects.
Responsibilities .Manage resource allocation of the team to ensure timely delivery of projects. .Manage operational support services for a large Enterprise Oracle Database environment including a 24x7 on-call support rotation and off-hours maintenance windows. .Manage the communication and interaction with business customers and technology peers for all Database related tasks and services. .Develop and build operational policies and procedures for successfully running Oracle Databases in a matures SAAS environment. .Manage resource allocation of team to ensure on time delivery of projects. .Drive the automation of regular operational tasks; implement and streamline processes to increase productivity as well as respond to business needs. .Build and execute on a DBA technology roadmap including financials and budget related to Databases. .Oversee design and architecture of Database configuration, deployment and related infrastructure (System & Storage). .Drive performance analysis & tuning, disk space management and capacity planning, as well as patching/upgrading databases. .Manage SOX and PCI Compliance as it pertains to Databases.
Qualifications .Solid design and architecture experience a must. .Hands-on experience and Expert knowledge of Oracle 10g and 11g RAC, OTLP, OLAP and replication (Streams, Golden Gate, or Shareplex) is required. .Excellent communication and technical presentation skills with demonstrated history of superior customer service. .Deep knowledge of Performance Tuning .Ability to manage multiple priorities and work on multiple simultaneous tasks in a fast moving environment.
Work Experience and Education Guidelines .Minimum of five years experience managing DBA team. .Minimum of ten years experience as an Oracle DBA with at least four years supporting highly available 24x7 production OLTP and Data Warehouse environments. .Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent work experience. .Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with Vendors and other 3rd parties. .Solid experience with multiple Unix /Linux flavors and SAN/NAS storage systems. . MySQL experience a plus.
