Nortel Government Solutions has an opening for a Pervasive/Oracle/SQL Server Database Administrator located in Washington D.C. NGS is seeking a Senior Pervasive/Oracle/SQL Server System Administrator. Typical tasks may be but are not limited to: * Provide Database Administration support of remote Client Server systems, including Microsoft Server 2003 and Pervasive software * Provide for the daily/routine operations and maintenance of remote Client Server systems, including Microsoft Server 2003 and Pervasive software * Provide analysis of incident reports * Co-ordinate the testing of MS Server Update, Pervasive application updates, anti-virus updates * Oversee implementation of updates * Coordinate and monitor: * Data Modeling and Data Analysis * Custom Tool development for Database Management * ETL * troubleshooting of system problems * document problems and solutions * record change and problem activities for tracking * utilizing problem management database and various database system specific tools * Work as part of a team * Applicant will be Point of Contact during non-business hours to provide emergency response to critical systems * Occasional travel (up to 25% per year) with short notice may be required to support five (5) sites throughout the US and two (2) sites in the DC/Baltimore area Requirements Minimum Education/Experience:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a client-server environment, Pervasive (Btrieve) Database and supporting and troubleshooting the following: Qualifications: Performs moderately complex systems and database administration. Monitors and tunes appropriate systems to ensure optimum level of performance. Oversees appropriate level software installations and upgrades and related software packages. Collects and reviews system data for capacity and planning purposes. Analyzes capacity data and develops capacity plans for appropriate level enterprise-wide systems. Coordinates with appropriate management personnel in implementing changes. Supports the design and configuration of complex system landscapes. Supports complex data/media recover-ability through system backups and database archive operations. Plans, coordinates and directs appropriate level data refresh rsees, recommends and implements appropriate level database solutions and enhancements to ensure an improvement in system reliability and rsees and applies appropriate support packages/patches to maintain system elops and maintains appropriate system documentation to ensure that documentation is current. Oversees the maintenance of a library of system-supporting process and procedure eracts with client management to answer questions, problems and requests regarding complex system vides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel. Security Clearance:·Must be a U.S. Citizen · Must be able to obtain/maintain a USCIS 6C clearance (a level of Public Trust clearance)
