The Senior Product Manager is responsible for defining and driving specific segment strategies for FalconStor Backup, Replication, and Advanced Recovery technologies. In addition to shaping the strategic direction and product roadmap for targeted market segment(s), you will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle, including analyzing market trends and customer requirements, defining product features, performing competitive analysis, developing partnering strategies, and defining and executing go-to-market strategies in conjunction with other organizations at FalconStor. This position reports to the VP of Product Management, and is located in New York. Qualifications:
* Define, drive and own the pre-specified segment strategy for FalconStor's Backup Software. Maintain subject matter expertise for this specific segment * Perform high-level analyses of market trends (technology, customer spending patterns, market growth areas, competitive, disruptive trends, etc.) and recommend a comprehensive Segment Strategy * Translate the Segment Strategy into appropriate Product and Partnering Strategies * Create appropriate business justification and develop business case in support of any major product and/or partnering decisions * Author the MRD/PRD and work with Engineering to drive timely, hi-quality releases of new products and software features * Define the overarching Go-to-Market strategy including the appropriate routes to market (OEM, Channel, Direct, Services, etc.) and Pricing/Licensing structures * Ensure product, pricing and solution competitiveness via a comprehensive competitive analysis * Ensure Go-to-Market readiness with appropriate cross-functional organizations in anticipation of product launches/releases including developing world-class Marketing Collateral, ensuring Channel Readiness, executing on Early Access Programs and Sales Programs / Promotions, and participating in appropriate Industry events to increase product awareness * Perform ongoing review of Product Offering and Go-to-market effectiveness via review of Lead Gen metrics, Sales Program Metrics, Customer / Partner / Analyst and Field Interviews * Represent FalconStor Backup, Replication, and Advanced Recovery product line at customer briefings, sales meetings, partner meetings, tradeshows, etc. * Execute appropriate Product End-of-Life strategies ensuring a smooth transition of the customer installed base to successor products as appropriate * Bachelors Degree; Masters Degree desirable, MBA a plus * 6-8+ years of progressive experience in software including at least 2-4 years of inbound product management experience. Outbound product management experience desirable as well. Prior hands-on technical experience in software development considered a plus
