Position Description A dynamic and highly motivated Senior Project Management with experience driving IT engineering and Operational project, process, and transition activities.
Responsibilities: The candidate must have a minimum of 7 years' experience leading teams, managing projects, developing and reporting on SLAS and OLAs, and driving business development initiatives in IT including project planning and communication, process creation and adoption, and operational SLA and OLA reporting. This role, specifically, leads client facing teams including process analyst, developers and project managers, servicing the IT needs of internal technology operating units (OUs) in support of business objectives. This Senior Project Manager plans, coordinates, and directs implementations, conversions, and ongoing support Requirements for all IT (GCS) engineering and operational initiatives. This individual will lead a team of domain specific experts on the implementation and operational turnover of client initiatives, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction, product usage, and retention. Ensures quality and consistent output by creating work standards and processes to effectively manage customer expectations through standards, service books, SLAs and OLAs.
Requirements: Ability to organize activities and lead others in accomplishing goals and objectives; react quickly to complex situations and apply problem-solving skills. Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationship with Operating and business units at all organizational levels. Advanced verbal and written communication skills. Strong process development and project management, business development, organizational, and prioritization skills required. Must have effective customer service skills, time management, communications, decision-making, presentation, and human relations skills.
Responsibilities Assist with complex solution efforts, including defining, design efforts and leading in implementation of technical solutions as required. Engineer and design systems, application frameworks, components and services as they relate to the Expedia environments. Contribute to engineering efforts in the Fault, Performance, Trend, Config, Change and Reporting Management domains as related to the infrastructure and platforms. Contribute to efforts in evaluations, proof of concepts, testing and selection. Drive adoption of reusable utilities and services from existing platforms within the Expedia infrastructure environment(s) as applicable. Drive execution on engineering methodologies, guidelines, standards, best practices, and reference architectures related to the project. Mentor colleagues on engineering, design and operations best practices. Maintain inventory assessments of all services, servers, applications, network and network security equipment. Lead projects from inception to completion as assigned by Management. Including but not limited to analysis, requirements, project planning, testing, designing, implementation and operations. Plan, design, implement and operate Enterprise systems as they apply to systems, applications, services, networks and network security operations. Work closely with other members of the Expedia Inc Operations and Engineering Departments to ensure that all issues are met in a timely manner. Respond to all work related communications (letters, email, voice-mail) in a timely manner. Adapt to new and/or changing processes, procedures, duties and responsibilities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent demonstrated IT work experience with an emphasis towards production support of high capacity mission critical eCommerce systems. Technical project management experience - Mid level engineer must have engineered and deployed large scale systems and platforms on at least one occasion in the past five years. Minimum 4 years experience in the development and/or deployment of carrier-class platforms or products with a proven record, preferably in carrier-class L2/L3 LAN/WAN systems products as well as Internet Ecommerce platforms and applications (multi-tiered web-app-database environments). Experience preferred in with the following tools: IBM NetCool, Microsoft SCOM, EMC SMARTS, and BMC ProactiveNet. Expertise and experience with Fault, Performance, Trend, Config, Change and Reporting Management platforms. Understanding of carrier/large scale enterprise NOC environments and FCAPS requirements. Understanding of ITIL framework and NMS environments that are ITIL compliant. Qualified candidates should have technical expertise in several of the following areas: JAVA, PERL, PYTHON, C, C++, HTML Experience with web-services, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Functional knowledge is a must for the following protocols and systems: Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, Sonet, ATM, TCP/IP, MPLS, and LAN switching technologies. Hands on Operating Systems experience with specific emphasis on UNIX, Linux and Microsoft products. Must be a team player, easy to work with, hardworking, and delivery-oriented. Must have good project management skills and possess the demonstrated ability to lead a project from inception to completion. Technical industry certification preferred. Master's degree education preferred.
