Senior Quality Assurance Analyst
Our client, located in New York City, is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for performing testing related activities including API-testing and testing on browser-based applications throughout the entire software development life cycle. You will communicate test results and significant QA issues to project team, perform defect tracking, and act as a spokesperson for the QA Team. Essential Functions: * Work with a product team to build knowledge of business rules* Critically review business requirements and functional specifications* Assist with strategic test planning* Write test cases based on use case methodology* Define, manage, and review the test scenarios using industry standards and best practices* Update regression scripts and assist with test automation efforts* Perform front and back-end testing* Write and execute Web API test cases* Communicate test results* Track defects and provide quality metrics* Recommend process improvements that improve user experience* Develop professional relationships within and among departments* Mentor other team membersThe following skills, knowledge and experience are required for this position unless noted otherwise: * Minimum 7 years of experience working in an application development environment* Minimum 5 years of recent experience writing test scenarios and test plans* Minimum 5 years of recent testing experience with Web-based SOA applications and Internet technologies using SOAP and REST protocols* Minimum 5 years of recent experience using API testing tools such as Soap UI* Minimum 2 years of experience with test automation tools, preferably Rational Functional Tester* Strong organizational and communication skills; verbal and written* Must exhibit strong analytical skills and be able to demonstrate creative thinking* Ability to read and write SQL queries* Knowledgeable about Software Configuration Management* Familiarity with iterative development and AGILE methodology* Ability to perform well in a fast paced and dynamic environment* Ability to work well independently* A Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related field
