Senior Research Analyst

The Research Board is a privately funded think tank providing research services to our sponsoring members. Membership is by invitation only and is limited to chief information officers from the world's largest corporations. We also run programs for direct reports to the CIO including programs for IT Finance executives, CTOs & Chief Architects, Chief Security Officers, and IT HR Executives. In addition to our research, we provide our members with a forum to discuss the challenges of their jobs with their peers and a venue to debate issues with the chief executives of leading technology vendors.

Job description/responsibilities

Provide research content to C-level clients of exclusive think-tank advisory service in specific or multiple topics related to leading edge information technology trends, through written materials, presentations, teleconferences, interviews, etc.  Create and deliver client inquiry responses and strategic advisory services. 

• Conduct on-going research and analysis either in specific or multiple areas of expertise as part of a team.
• Research business issues by reading business cases and industry reports, networking with clients, vendors and analysts, conducting interviews and surveys, evaluating and analyzing information, performing statistical analysis and participating in research meetings or other activities that comprise the research process.
• Create high-value written research in fulfillment of commitment to our clients.
• Create and deliver presentation content to clients (face-to-face, audio teleconferencing, conferences, etc.) .
• Make presentations at multiple conferences as the industry expert.
• Remain current on developments and issues within specified areas.
• Maintain relationships with technology vendors, academics, VCs, and other external parties.
• Respond to client inquiries as required.
• Manage and perform broad and complex responsibilities, often with conflicting time demands.

Requirements

• 3-10 years of experience within the technology research field or equivalent experience working in a technology department of an enterprise or as a product manager for a vendor, or as a financial industry analyst with knowledge of a specific technology.
• Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred.
• Knowledge/understanding of a technology market, vendor products, and users.
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize multiple sources of information (cases, reports, peer input), apply conceptual models, recognize patterns and draw and defend conclusions.
• Applicable experience with business and technology issues facing CIO’s, senior IT executives and C-level leaders.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to logically structure and present content.
• Well developed public speaking skills.
• Superior project management skills.
