The Expedia Loyalty team is building an innovative customer loyalty program that will keep customers coming back to Expedia websites to book all of their travel. We are looking for a Sr. Java Developer to define and evangelize a culture of open, creative solutions for a brand new team. In this crucial position, you will be on point to quickly build travel APIs for one of Expedia's most important new initiatives. Responsibilities
Design and write code for standards-based travel APIs that scale to millions of users per day.
Prototype creative solutions quickly, and be able to lead others in crafting and implementing your great technical vision.
Make a big difference by leveraging your strong background in Java programming, with an emphasis in server-side development and open source technologies.
Direct the work of our off-shore engineering team to support and accelerate service implementation and testing.
Evangelize and lead across teams in the adoption of technologies and processes that accelerate the pace of development.
Requirements
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
5-10 years relevant industry experience in object-oriented development roles.
A proven track record of delivering and operating large-sized software systems.
Experience in working with or directing off-shore development teams.
Expert level skills with at least three of the following technologies: Java, SOAP, Rest, Spring, SQL.
