Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE) Lead Job
Job Category: Software Engineering: Development Location: United Kingdom, Cambridge Job ID: 3 Division: Microsoft Research
Cambridge Innovation Development has an opening for a senior software development lead. As part of our team, you'll lead and contribute to projects working with diverse technologies including computer vision and machine learning algorithms, systems and networking, user interfaces such as surface and multi-touch, and new experimental hardware. Our projects run anywhere from a few weeks to a year or more. Project goals are varied, and may include prototyping, feature definition and development for existing products, or even helping create new products. In most cases, our projects are collaborations with research and with product groups across Microsoft.
The successful candidate will be an experienced development lead with extensive commercial software development experience. You should have experience leading a development team and have extensive commercial coding experience. You should have C / C++ and C# / .NET coding skills, be self-motivated, and able to drive and perform work ranging from prototyping to every stage of producing full-fledged product quality implementations.
Knowledge of web services and internet technologies, mobile computing, operating systems, application development, API design, and networking are all desirable. Other useful technologies include WPF, DirectX, XNA, Objective-C, the Windows Platform SDK, kernel-mode device driver development, parallel programming, and pretty much anything else you can think of. Very few people have experience in all of these areas. You should have solid experience in at least two of them, and be willing to learn any of the rest as required for projects.
