Business Title Senior Software Development Manager Requisition No. 36810BR Category Tech - Software Engineers Work Location eBay Salt Lake City Shift Day Primary Job Responsibilities The individual will be part of a world-class technology organization supporting leading enterprise applications to streamline Customer Service processes. • Manage a team of engineers that define, design, implement, and test software applications for eBay's customer support Siebel Call Center platform. The individual will use deep knowledge of Siebel to ensure that the application configurations, UI and work-flows are optimized for Customer Service with understanding of the application impacts towards Siebel integration. • Segment and design system layers to support componentized and layered application development, including user interface, business functionality, and Siebel database access via the defined data model. • Work with other engineers, managers, Product Management, QA, and Operations teams to develop innovative solutions that meet market needs with respect to application functionality, performance, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to Siebel best practice development goals and principles. • Provide estimates for configuration effort; plan implementation, and rollout system changes. • Provide escalation support for critical issues to management with appropriate mitigations identified. • Represent team in technology forums, evaluate and evangelize emerging technologies relevant to domain. • Identify technical areas for improvement and make detailed business cases for improvements or new areas of opportunities supporting the business. • Provide direction and assigns tasks to other employees. • Periodically visit customer support centers and identify improvements to the customer support Siebel Call Center platform. Job Requirements • 10+ years of large scale, full lifecycle development experience and at least + years as a Manager, preferably at a high-volume online company in the area of Customer Support using Siebel Call Center and Siebel Analytics. • 6+ years of hands-on experience in Siebel application configuration including Siebel Scripting, Siebel Workflow, and Screen/View/Applet development. Familiarity with Siebel Assignment Manager, Email Response, Siebel CTI integration, and Siebel EAI development is a strong plus. • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Database driven application development (prefer Oracle), SQL and schema design. • Working knowledge of Oracle's OBIEE reporting platform, Call Center Applications and technologies such as XML Schemas, HTML, AJAX, SOA services, WSDL, etc. • Good knowledge of key Enterprise Middleware technologies such as: J2EE, JMS, ESB, etc. • Working knowledge of Windows and UNIX development environment and associated tools like source code management, bug tracking etc. • Must have front-line experience in running high-volume call centers for a large global company • Extensive development experience using Siebel Tools and database development a must. • Experience with IBM Websphere or other J2EE application servers, Eclipse IDE is a plus
Education BSCS or BSEE or Other Related 4yr Technical Degree
