The Senior Software Engineer will develop and maintain software products in a team environment. Includes design, specification, coding, and unit testing. Work with other departments as needed to meet specifications and support other department's requirements
This position is to provide software engineering support to the Integrated Systems group, and would initially be focused on Network Sensor integration. The Primary responsibility is to develop, maintain, and test software solution for the company product line. This work includes, but is not limited to, software modeling, development of architecture, and implementation of code features. Teamwork is an essential part of this position, as well as the ability to communicate ideas in written and verbal form. The specific software engineering skills required to perform this role will change as the technology evolves and the employee must track and adapt to new technologies. The successful candidate will act as a key contributor to the software and systems required by our product lines, as well as provide support to customer facing projects and support our customer service function.
Requirements
.BA/BS or advanced degree in Computer Science or equivalent .Minimum 5 years experience as a software engineer .Experience with full lifecycle software development, including activities related to design, implementation, test and qualification of Software. .Languages: Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, Fortran .Scripting: BASH, CSH, SH .Web-based user interface development using JavaScript and Tomcat .GUI development using Java and/or C# .Development using ActiveX components .Database development experience(SQLite, PostgreSQL, MySQL) .Operating Systems Knowledge: Windows XP/Vista/7, Linux (CentOS/RedHat) with WinCE and Solaris a plus .Integrated Development Platforms: Eclipse, Visual Studio, Code Warrior .Platforms: Intel x86, Freescale/ARM with SPARC a plus .Good verbal/written communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
Skills preferred, but not required: .Embedded SW development experience in WinXP/WinCE and Linux development experience working a government programs .EE or Electronics Technician course work .Ability to assist hardware and systems engineering in debug of hardware at the hardware/software interface level
