Job Description

This position leads a team of sourcing managers and manages the complex and critical decisions, implementation, and service delivery for a given category and / or service line.  Responsible to ensure strategic sourcing best practices in order to deliver savings and efficiencies to Intermountain Healthcare and its stakeholders. 

Job Essentials: 

• Supervises assigned sourcing staff to ensure a quality service is provided to customers and is responsible for the coordination of day to day sourcing activities
• Develops procurement strategies for the assigned subcategories
• Identifies cross-functional teams for new sourcing initiatives
• Reviews and validates sourcing opportunities
• Using a solid understanding of finance, business case development, financial modeling, and the total cost of ownership understanding and analysis, drives continuous annual savings in the assigned subcategories by synthesizing industry analysis, business knowledge and procurement expertise to develop strategic sourcing strategies
• Identifies and leads sourcing projects that result in lower TCO
• Collaborates with stakeholders and Strategic Relationship Mangers and Provides strategic category planning for assigned categories
• Defines and provides direction to customers on contracted items and appropriate purchasing method
• Manages the supplier communication and supplier relations during sourcing process to ensure all stakeholders receive a high level of service

Minimum Requirements

• Master’s Degree; Education is verified and d egree must be obtained through an accredited institution

• Seven years experience in a role requiring strategic and operational focus on supply chain sourcing and / or supplier management involving highly-complex analysis and project management

• Five years of direct experience in strategic sourcing and / or category management within the health care industry

• Five years experience in a role requiring subject matter expertise in supply chain management

• Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail and scheduling applications

  Physical Requirements

• Seeing, hearing / listening, speaking, sitting, manual dexterity

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in business or supply chain management
