Position Description
Senior Support Analyst will manage & support ETL and Data Warehouse processes & applications. This candidate will also be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, fixing data issues, tracking bugs, analyzing data and providing daily operational metrics without any technical assistance.
Responsibilities:
The role involves ongoing operational design, deployment and Tier3 support of Expedia's Enterprise Data Warehouse systems.
Work in partnership with Project Manager, developers, and other database engineers to design and deploy new data warehouse products & solutions.
The Sr Support Analyst will be responsible for monitoring / troubleshooting daily ETL loads, fixing data issues, tracking bugs, analyze the data and providing daily operational metrics without any technical assistance.
Participate in product release process, determine impact to existing DW and OLTP systems and complete code rollout by working with other operation support / Development team.
Review deliverables to ensure that they meet specifications and operation standards.
Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangible variables.
ETL system maintenance / ETL performance analysis / trend analysis, addressing performance issues by working with Development / Database team.
Work with Development team to create necessary operational documents and transition daily support activities with Tier2 team.
Recommends systems changes to development management.
Proactive in recommending updates and improvements to existing systems.
Participate in process improvement / best practices.
Qualifications:
4 to 6 years of operational support experience in large scale Data Warehouse environment with strong SQL, Windows / Unix and scripting experience
Solid understanding of Database/Data Warehouse / ETL & Business Intelligence concepts.
Able to troubleshoot, analyze data issues and identify root cause. Must have strong query writing skills.
3 -5 years of working experience with Informatica Power center system or any Industry standard ETL system.
1 -3 years of experience with any BI products like Business objects or Cognos or MS Analysis server.
Strong database skills. 1 -3 yrs of working experience with any database product is required.
Must be familiar with incident management & change control methodologies.
