Senior-Tech Project Mgmt

Description

Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned technical projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects. Projects are typically high value long term projects. Project Manager leads cross functional teams to complete projects within allotted timeline and budget. Takes technical projects from original concept through final implementation. Defines project scope and objectives. Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis. Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables. Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables. Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team. Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.
Nature of Contribution- Seasoned technical professional who contributes through proven technical expertise. Has significant impact on department or function.

Knowledge - Subject matter expert within own discipline/specialty area and basic knowledge of other disciplines / specialty areas. Deep technical knowledge. Applies in-depth knowledge of discipline/specialty area standards and processes to work. Integrates industry experience and deep professional/ technical knowledge. Technical leader and recognized expert on select AT&T technologies, systems and/or procedures.
Analysis and Problem Solving -Solves unique problems through evaluative judgment and precedent. Independently applies sophisticated analysis in evaluating issues and develops new concepts, methods and techniques for cross-functional initiatives. Recognizes and pursues alternative methods.
Independence - Guided by department goals and objectives. Exercises latitude in determining objectives and approaches to projects. Leads multiple projects of small to medium size and technical breadth.
Contribution to AT&T Technology -Key contributor on complex projects and initiatives. Impacts current and future business opportunities through application of specialized technical and industry knowledge. Develops methods and techniques based on strategic project objectives.
Communication- Provides technical guidance and explains advanced concepts to others in work area. May mentor others in department. Coordinates across multiple departments. Promotes active listening and open communication. Provides leadership and guidance to others.
Additional Responsibilities
  • This position may be responsible for contributing to AT&T's compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of new developments and technology
  • Monitor projects and recommend changes to improve operating efficiency
  • Plan and manage the implementation of special network or engineering projects
  • Manage project scope determination
  • Manage and track project expenditures
  • Manage communications with Technical Planning, RF Engineering, Network Operations, Field Personnel
  • Coordinate the activities of cross functional groups to complete major projects that typically involve developing project activity schedules, establishing sub-committee hierarchy, monitoring progress, serving as a single point of contact for problem resolution
  • Require knowledge of the network hierarchy, network principles, core business processes, Company standards and guidelines and project management processes
  • Implement of new technologies, products and services for growth
  • Develop interdepartmental operations, administration and maintenance methods and procedures
  • Provide service management to customers who experience service problems and eliminate roadblocks while finding and removing process problems
  • Provide technical support and training to subordinates, peers, and other work groups
  • Require the coordination of technologies, processes, and people to ensure that tasks and issues are planned, tracked and resolved

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years relevant experience in wireless cell site development/site acquisition
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalant related experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of structural engineering services
  • Prior project management experience
  • Prior vendor management experience
  • Budget management
  • Knowledge of wireless collocation process
  • Milestone forecasting/reporting
  • Ability to adhere to processes and procedures
  • Initiative, drive and the ability to work in fast paced environment under tight timelines
  • Team Player

Qualifications

Required Qualifications -
  • Associates Degree in Math, Science or Engineering/Technical
  • Understanding of Finance and Economic Analysis
  • Expert in Contract Administration
  • Expert in Vendor Analysis
  • Understanding of IP Engineering Principles
  • Expert in Wireless Engineering Principles
  • Understanding of Network Equipment/Architecture systems and Operations
  • Expertise in Product Development and Introduction
  • Expertise in Program and Project Management Experience
Desired Qualifications -
  • 5-8 years of experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Math or Engineering or Science
  • Six Sigma training, PMP and PE
