We are seeking a passionate, self-motivated and articulate Senior Technical Writer to join this small and talented team dedicated to protecting the sensitive information of the world’s largest companies. The documentation, online help, and technical papers that you create will help customers around the world to avoid destructive information loss and potential legal liability.
In this position you will function as a senior member of an international and highly professional publications team, using and documenting sophisticated client-server security products and programming interfaces developed in such diverse places as North Carolina, Massachusetts, California, Australia and India.
As a Senior Writer, you will be involved in all aspects of product development (architecture, design, implementation, testing, and release) and will be able to influence product features and functioning.

Duties and Responsibilities: · You will represent Technical Publications on project teams and you may perform technical project leadership roles, while fostering teamwork and collaboration within and across work groups. · You will anticipates issues and address them proactively. · You will plan, coordinate and execute documentation projects under only very general direction. · You will be expected to participate in the design and development of documentation presentation and distribution systems, and existing processes, recommending solutions and improvements. · You will be responsible for the creation and/or revision of hardware or software product documentation, which may include installation guides, user and administrator guides, programming guides, and other technical publications such as release notes and technical papers. · You will be empowered to exert your sphere of influence outside of your department. · You may be asked to seek customer input and participate in internal and external customer meetings.
Skills:
Required: · Demonstrated advanced technical writing capability. · Experience in documenting Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). · Familiarity with C and/or Java programming languages. · Keen analytical ability. · Basic understanding of the software development process. · Experience with enterprise software documentation. · Excellent written and oral communication skills. · Ability to manage complex documentation projects under tight deadlines. · Strong work ethic and drive for high-quality results.
Desired: · Prior experience in security technology or the data security industry. · Expert capability in FrameMaker, Microsoft Word, Acrobat Professional, help-generation tool. · Programming experience.
Education: · Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field, or in English or Journalism.
Experience: · 5+ years experience as a technical communicator.
