DESCRIPTION:
Time Warner is in the process of implementing a Global Shared Services Group to provide its business units with Commodity Services like IT Infrastructure and Applications. This role will be critical to developing and operating the Shared Service function specifically around a common HRIS /Payroll platform.
Global Technology Services division of TW (Time Warner Inc.) is looking for a lead ETL developer to support the Shared Services HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) implementation project team within the Global Technology Services division. As an HRIS ETL Lead, s/he will be primarily responsible for the design, build, and deployment of the data integration/ETL component for the HRIS project. The primary task associated with this role is the use of the Informatica PowerCenter ETL platform to extract, transform, and load operational data from multiple sources into a BI environment and legacy data from multiple sources into the ODS layer of EDW developed around Nateeza. The ETL Lead will also be responsible for overseeing one or more ETL developers and set the standards for quality while working in close collaboration with project managers, business analysts, data modelers, and systems architects.
DUTIES/OBJECTIVES:
. Design data transformation processes to load EDW's ODS layer on Netezza platform from the enterprise HRIS system and legacy divisional HR systems. . Document and develop source to target mappings and detailed design of ETL processes. . Develop ETL processes using Informatica, including robust message and error handling. . Conduct and participate in design and code walkthroughs. . Conduct unit test and integration tests of ETL processes. . Develop and execute functional test plans of data loads and data extracts. . Optimize ETL processes that may not be performing well. . Utilize technical best practices and standards for development in Informatica and Netezza. . Work with Corporate Business Intelligence team to ensure consistency in design, development, and testing techniques and documentation. . Work with EDW Architecture team to understand the source and target data models, as well as platform requirements. . Follow standards for change management and version control between Dev, Stage, Production, and DR environments. . Such other duties as may be required by business needs
REQUIREMENTS:
. Minimum of 8 to 10 years of IT experiences with at least 5 years experience as an ETL developer (or 3 years as a Lead) using Informatica in BI or data warehousing. . 5+ years experience in related ETL tool (e.g. Business Objects Data Integrator, MS SSIS, Ab Initio, etc.) . 2+ years experience in high volume data warehousing environment (e.g. Netezza, Oracle, Teradata) . Understanding of database design and programming concepts required. . Strong SQL skills required . Knowledge of Data Warehouse principles required . Solid understanding of relational/normalized data modeling concepts required . Star schema/dimensional data modeling skills a plus . Ability to communicate ideas to both technical and non-technical people in all levels of the organization. . Experience with Informatica Team-Based Development desired . Experience developing advanced and complex Informatica is desired . Experience with Informatica Meta Data Management tools desired . Ability to work independently under minimum supervision and being proactive in solving issues . Strong analytical, problem solving and planning skills . Strong verbal and written communication skills . Proactive, great attention to detail, and results-oriented problem solver . HR Systems experience . Knowledge of other Corporate functions and systems (e.g. Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Real Estate, etc) . Such other duties as may be required by business needs
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline required and advanced degree highly preferred.
