Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please note that evening and weekend work required periodically and pager support is also required.

Overall Accountabilities:   
An excellent opportunity to join a dynamic company exists for an experienced Senior WINTEL (MS Windows/Intel) based Application Support Specialist.  As the successful candidate they will work with other Application Support Specialists as part of a team to support the day to day operations of the corporate applications primarily residing on Windows 2003 and 2008 Servers.  The successful candidate will be responsible for recommendations to improve application technologies, design and implementation of application technology solutions to address business problems and helping the organization become more efficient through technology.  They will also be responsible for application monitoring, incident and problem management, capacity planning, documentation, security, patching, ensuring maximum application availability and performance.  The incumbent will also provide support of these technologies to internal Associates and external clients.

General Role & Responsibilities:   

• Responsible for researching and providing recommendations for application technologies, establish application standards, design and implement application technology solutions to address business problems and helping the organization become more efficient through technology.
• Manage projects and construct deployment strategies.
• Responsible for the administration and support of day to day operations of the corporate WINTEL server based applications primarily residing on Windows 2003 and 2008 Servers.
• Responsible for application monitoring, incident and problem management, capacity planning, documentation, security, patching, ensuring maximum application availability and performance.
• Develop and support cloud computing technologies, infrastructure and applications to meet organization requirements.
• Mentor and provide leadership to junior staff and assists other technical staff with technical recommendations and problem resolution.

• Proven experience with supporting applications primarily residing on Windows 2003 and 2008 in a multi domain server infrastructure with a high level of virtualization.  
• Experience with email related products including Lotus Notes, MS Exchange, Blackberry Enterprise Server, GOOD Technologies
• Experienced in supporting database and business applications including SQL Server, Frontier, DataStore, AccPac, RightFax, NICE voice recording services and custom applications.
• Use of management tools for infrastructure management (Altiris, LANDesk, Kaspersky centralized server, Shavlik patch management, monitoring tools, backup tools, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and server internetworking.
• Evening and weekend work required periodically and pager support is also required.

Important Requirements:

• Knowledge of deploying and administrating applications over terminal services or Citrix in a highly available environment.
• Knowledge of deploying and administrating applications on VMWare infrastructure.
• Experience in developing and supporting cloud computing technologies, infrastructure and applications.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite of products.
• Experience with performing security/vulnerability reviews on applications Servers.
• Identifies and implements opportunities to improve processes and procedures that add value; identifies and eliminates processes and procedures that decrease value.
• Technical and business writing skills.
