Job Description : Bosch Rexroth, Columbus Ohio has an open position for a Service Mechanic. Responsible for the disassembly, inspection, evaluation, repair, maintenance, assembly, and testing of hydraulic motors and any applicable equipment, machinery, and components. Work with other Service Mechanics in the Manufacturing and Service departments, and if necessary, provide some support to Field Service Technicians on customer applications. Essential responsibilities include: Carefully disassemble hydraulic motors using hand tools, power tools, and equipment; Accurately observe and diagnose hydraulic motors, components, and accessories; Thoroughly inspect and verify functionality, efficiency, and safe working conditions of hydraulic motors and accessories; Effectively examine parts for defects; Identify parts that need to be replaced or re-worked; Install needed parts and systematically repair and re-assemble hydraulic motors and accessories; Test hydraulic motors and accessories to meet factory specifications; Safely operate all overhead cranes, tow motors and pallet jackets; Thoroughly clean all parts and tools used; Follow all written Operation Standards for Motor Repair without deviation; Adhere to and practice all safety and quality standards and practices; Work overtime or after core-business hours as required to meet work goals/objectives; Perform all other duties as necessary. Job Requirements : High school diploma or its equivalent; ASE Certification, Certificate of Achievement in a federally certified Millwright Program, and Fluid Power Certification considered a plus. Experience should include: Two to four years as a Service Mechanic/Service Technician or relative position in the field of hydraulics or a related field; Some work with direct customers; Hydraulic, Power Transmissions exposure/experience. Skills and Abilities: Fundamental computer operation skills; Good knowledge of equipment, machines and ability to use hand and power tools for repair, installation and maintenance; Demonstrate critical thinking and trouble- shooting skills; Excellent active listening skills; Great at developing and maintaining customer relationships; Sound in the safe operation and monitoring of equipment, machines and/or systems; Good written and verbal communication skills; Work well under demanding timelines and in high urgency situations. Must be able to effectively perform the following on a frequent basis: Move, sit, hear, discern, speak, and see; Use finger dexterity to type, adjust, move, handle, perform, operate, install, attach, remove, apply, grasp, manipulate, and measure; Transport, rotate, reach, pull, push, stretch, twist, stoop, bend, crouch, and adjust positions; Lift a minimum of fifty pounds; and Perform physically strenuous work activities/tasks for a continued period of time. Other requirements: Ability to travel to various job sites, customer plants, etc (including plane and by driving); Possession of a valid driver's license; Motor vehicle insurability; Potential to travel internationally which will require a valid passport.
