Job Description The SharePoint Administrator role supports intranet-related projects within our team by designing, configuring, and implementing new and enhanced team sites using Microsoft SharePoint and CorasWorks Workplace Suite. In this position, you will lead discovery, analyze requirements, and design and configure solutions. You will also work with project managers and business analysts to scope and define projects. Responsibilities/Activities: . Build strong relationships within the team to understand their unique and relevant business challenges and opportunities. . Work with project managers, business analysts, and program stakeholders to identify opportunities for workflow/process improvements and jointly develop ways to enhance productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness through the appropriate application of technology. . Lead discovery and design sessions and assist customers with business requirements for their SharePoint and Office system-based solutions. . Recommend project approaches to translate business strategies into technical visions and strategies. Articulate solution risks, barriers and mitigation strategies. . Analyze audiences, roles/personas, tasks, and objectives and develop user experience strategies, navigation strategies, site maps and site template designs. . Assist with the application of taxonomies and classification schemas appropriate to each particular customer. . Implement architecture by developing web pages, configuring components, creating prototypes, migrating data, maintaining technical integrity and consistency, and documenting solutions. . Prepare customer to use solution by developing and conducting training programs. . Provide technical consultation in new solutions development, new package evaluations, and enhancements of existing systems; participate in structured walk though and technical reviews. . Prepare design documents and technical papers explaining and motivating the approaches to be taken in the architecture of SharePoint-based solutions. . Assist with the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines for SharePoint and intranet usage and communicate architecture standards and frameworks. . Support the strategy and development of IT and the SharePoint Team. Requirements/Qualifications: . 5 or more years of experience in business analysis, software development, information architecture, business systems engineering, technical project management, or applicable subject area, in an enterprise environment. . Demonstrated experience in developing and driving successful SharePoint 2003 WSSv2/Team Site solutions in cooperation with business customers, from assessment to deployment, with experience across the SDLC. . Experience with SPS, CorasWorks, and SharePoint WSSv3/MOSS 2007 preferred. . Experience configuring WSS, and designing sites and site templates. . Must have solid understanding of generally accepted best practices for SharePoint capacity planning, infrastructure rollout, governance, and development. . Experience with enterprise applications (grants and contracts management, ERP, CRM, BI, or related systems) a plus. . Exceptional oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to participate effectively in cross-functional teams, and to represent technology services in a manner that is easily understood by non-technical users and customers. . Strong technical writing skills to develop comprehensive specifications and documentation for business and software functionality. Must be proficient with modeling and mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Enterprise Architect, etc.). . Strong facilitation skills, including leading meetings, presentation skills, problem resolution/mediation. . Must be able to adjust work-style to match team or audience, especially when working with non-technical or time-starved resources. . Strong initiative; able to self-manage. Comfortable with ambiguity and able to work through it to get the right things done. Understands how to use communication channels and escalates appropriately. . Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills. . Demonstrated experience in developing technical solutions that serve business requirements, setting realistic customer expectations, and delivering to those expectations. . Experience reengineering workflow and data management processes to maximize efficiency. . Bachelor's degree in business, computer and information science, or related subject area required. Broad technology background and experience in one or more customer business disciplines preferred Soft skills: .
