Organization The Solutions Infrastructure Practice (SIP) at Hewlett Packard works with our customers to effectively manage IT transformation across the business. The SIP Practice is comprised of 5 sub- practices: Security and Risk Management, Storage Services, SAP Infrastructure, Microsoft Infrastructure, and Data Center Transformation. The majority of consultants in the SIP Practice specialize in specific infrastructure disciplines. These consultants will be assigned to and engage in projects at our customer sites across a wide variety of industry verticals including: Retail, Financial Services, Healthcare, Insurance and more.
Experience Summary We are looking for a Senior Technical Consultant to work in our Microsoft Infrastructure Practice. The person selected for this position should have at least 5 years of increasing responsibility for and delivering of SharePoint solutions as a SharePoint Architect. A SharePoint Architect serves as the primary individual for analysis, design, development, deployment, and overall project management for SharePoint (MOSS). This position requires expert knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint Architecture and a working knowledge of related technologies such as: · SQL Server 200x · Internet Information Server · Active Directory · Microsoft Office desktop application integration with SharePoint. · .Net development skills(C#) and demonstrated web part/customization experience · Microsoft Exchange Server · Office Communications Server · A demonstrated ability to manage a large scale deployment of SharePoint and integrate other technologies is necessary.
The SharePoint Architect will analyze the client's information architecture, understand institutional and departmental requirements, to design and develop organizational taxonomies, policies, procedures, governances and solutions. The candidate works closely with developers to provide custom solutions as necessary. This individual must be highly motivated in this area of computing in order to stay current with present trends and activities. The Qualified Individual additionally has the following skills: · MCTS certifications in Microsoft Office SharePoint Services (MOSS) configuration and/or development preferred. · 5 years related Information Technology experience required that includes deployment and development with Microsoft Office SharePoint Services (MOSS) · Understand each customer's development and production requirements and goals Understand, assess, and propose solutions for resolving customer questions and issues · Design and implement solutions with java-based applications · Experience in Web server configuration and architecture · Specific experience with SharePoint 2007 platform required · Building Intranet portals and collaboration solutions using MS SharePoint · Converting existing content, sites, and services into SharePoint 2007 · Building features, Web parts, etc. for SharePoint · Integrating the portal with other corporate data sources, applications, and knowledge management systems · Integrating SharePoint with Microsoft Exchange Server and Office Communications Server · Broad understanding of networking, system management, Windows, and UNIX operating systems · Excellent Communication skills (written and verbal) to all management levels within customer organization. · Ability to listen carefully and extract key issues · Conflict resolution and negotiation skills/ experience · Solid project management skills/experience · Excellent interview and documentation skills · Ability to socialize and generate consensus for new ideas and to overcome resistance · Teaching, training, coaching and mentoring skills
