Deloitte's SI Capability maintains a strong focus on structuring, managing, and implementing complex technical solutions requiring deep business expertise, process optimization, and business operations knowledge to achieve significant and measurable business value Solution Integration Practice: Essential functions of a Consultant at Deloitte Consulting: A Consultant at Deloitte functions as an integrator between business needs and technology solutions, helping to create technology solutions to meet clients' business needs. A Consultant gains exposure to multiple industries while demonstrating an awareness of the full breadth of services offered by Deloitte Consulting LLP. Responsibilities include defining systems strategy, developing system requirements, designing, prototyping, and testing custom technology solutions, and supporting system implementation. Consultants in the Solution Integration practice are required to have: - 2 years of relevant consulting or industry experience - A minimum of 1 full life cycle implementation - 1+ year of experience participating in large-scale, full-life cycle Service Oriented Architecture implementations. This effort can be within a management consulting or industry environment - At least 2 years of experience participating in large Business Integration efforts and being a member of a project team through all phases of the project lifecycle from scoping and planning, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and go live - Must have 2+ years of hands-on technical experience with at least one of the following tools: TIBCO Active Business Works, IBM Websphere Business Integration, SAP Netweaver XI, Oracle Fusion Middleware, WebMethods - Must have at least 2 years of experience in custom software development projects - Conversant in two or more integration areas (Message-oriented middleware, Human Workflow, Business Process Management, Business Activity Monitoring, Technology and Enterprise Application Adapters) - A willingness to travel 80-100% of the time In addition, successful Consultants will have the following preferred background: - A strong Java, EJB, BPEL, UNIX background - Experience with Business Process Modeling (BPM) tools, Business rules integration - Experience with Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) technology like BEA, Sonic, IBM, Oracle - Strong knowledge and comprehension standards, specifications, standards bodies (e.g., XML, UDDI, JMS, Web services, etc.) - Experience with open source technologies such as Apache ServiceMix, FuseESB, Camel and Mule - Strong software development methodology understanding, and experience assisting in the design, development or testing of a technology integration project - Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments - Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint) - Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment - A Bachelor's Degree - An advanced degree in the area of specialization
