DESCRIPTION:
Our client requires the services of a Senior Network Engineer, with the following skills and qualifications.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates MUST MEET the following mandatory criteria in order to qualify for consideration: Must have a BEng in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience in Network Communications showing a progression in responsibility in the following areas:
Communications Engineering: Data Link, network, transport or application communication protocol development and/or performance analysis (M&S or laboratory);
IP naming, addressing, and routing using Distance Vector or Link State Algorithms;
Leading software and/or hardware development teams developing network communications systems.
Protocol and routing expertise, software development capability and data analytical ability to assist with Modeling and Simulation.
Expertise and hands on knowledge of the following routing protocols: OSPF v2, RIP v2, BGP, OLSR and PIM (DM and SM).
Demonstrated experience in process frameworks and applicable standards (ie ISO/IEC 12207, ISO/IEC 15288, ISO 9001; Personnel Software Process; CMMI).
Demonstrated experience in the preparation of technical concept documents, system specifications, and technical proposals in the field of Information Technology/Information management or engineering (ie System, software, computer, communication, security, or simulation) experience.
RATED/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- A licensed Professional Engineer within Canada.
- A strong background in software development using Object Oriented C++.
- Capable of performing analysis on large data sets.
- Capable of writing technical documents that are delivered to clients.
- Software development experience with the Windows OS.
- Knowledge of the software life cycle from definition, requirement analysis and design, to implementation, validation and support.
- Experience network engineering for projects or systems.
- Experience with a wide based support contract involving R&O and field support.
