Description
Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as a junior to mid-level software (Ruby/Rails) developer on a small (7-8 person) team converting a Lotus Notes database to an Oracle database with a user interface developed using Ruby on Rails.
Required Qualifications: Six years general IT experience, four of which must be "specialized" (i.e., Ruby, Java, or similar; experience with Oracle or other RDBMS; SQL, Lotus Notes, etc.) Bachelor's degree in relevant technical or business discipline. Suitable experience may be substituted for the degree or the discipline. BS in CS, IT, Engineering, or Business will count as one year of "specialized" experience and two years of general IT experience. An MS in CS, IT, Engineering, or Business will count as an additional year of specialized experience and an additional two years general experience. Solid written and oral communication skills required - close and frequent user/developer collaboration is the norm. Close working relationship with other team members (DBA, Test Analyst, Requirements Analyst, other Developers) is also the project standard.
Desired Qualifications: Successful candidate will likely have aditional technical training or experience beyond Ruby (e.g., Java, C++, etc.) and Oracle or Lotus Notes would make for an ideal fit.
