Developer Java / .Net
Analyzes business requirements/processes and system integration points to determine appropriate technology solutions. Designs, codes, tests and documents applications based on system and user requirements. Troubleshoot third party applications and technologies with limited or no access to source code. Installs and configure web based applications and windows services.
Principal Accountabilities
· Prepares flow charts and systems diagrams to assist in problem analysis. · Responsible for preparing design documentation. · Designs, codes, tests and debugs software according to Dell's standards, policies and procedures. · Codes, tests and documents programs according to system and industry standards. · Prepares test data for unit, string and parallel testing. · Analyzes business needs and creates software solutions or suggest ways to solve business needs with currently available technology. · Evaluates and recommends software and hardware solutions to meet user needs. · Interacts with business users and I/T to define current and future application requirements, to get details about issues, to explain solutions, to give orientation about best practices and advice on best ways to interact with internally developed software and with vendor provided software.
Scope
· Prioritizes own work and may provide some assistance to entry level programmer, analysts and business users on topics related to the applications you work with. · Assists in establishing group priorities relative to basic business needs.
Complexity
· Works on program needs of moderate to large scope. · Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies Knowledge and Skills
· Consistently applies fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.
· Applied in-depth knowledge of one or more programming languages applicable to the Dell IT environment. Because both of our applications contains parts written in Java and in .NET, must know at least .NET, and must have had at least an overview about Java technologies.
· Applied in-depth knowledge of one or more relational database management system, preferable SQL Server.
· Knowledge at least in basic in T-SQL programming
· Substantive knowledge of coding, testing and debugging.
· Competent to work in some phases of applications programming, design, deployment and maintenance (throughout all the applications lifecycle would be best).
· Knows and consistently applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of applications programming.
· Proven ability to apply programming languages to develop solutions to business needs.
· Proven ability to effectively troubleshoot program errors.
· General understanding of how technology supports the business
· Experience in configuring complex desktop and web applications and windows services
. Fluency in English
Experience
· 3-5 years of professional experience directly related to I/T or equivalent combination of education/experience.
· At least 3 years working full time as .NET Developer or Java Developer, preferably developing a mix of applications and web sites.
