Role Description:
We are currently seeking a software developer responsible for development and support of financial security and portfolio risk analytic and reporting tools within the Portfolio Management Tools group. This individual will develop high quality technology solutions; create strong partnerships with end-users and other BlackRock Solutions team members; implement project deliverables that meet businesses requirements, audit/control requirements and are aligned with business and technology strategies.
Responsibilities:
* All phases of software development for the AnSer product and supporting server infrastructure. * Working with senior team members and internal clients to specify and design new product functionality. * Interfacing with other groups in the firm to solve client problems. * Continuous communication of technology decisions, issues and plans to senior team members and clients * Providing ongoing development maintenance of existing application functionality, working closely with the client support teams to address issues that are escalated for resolution.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field * 2-5 years of industry experience * Strong programming skills in Java are required * Knowledge of SQL, C++, and Perl a very strong plus * Experience with UNIX (especially Solaris and Linux) and Windows * Strong object oriented programming design skills. * Knowledge of UML, design patterns/frameworks, etc. * Experience with the Java Foundation Classes (JFC) a very strong plus * Experience in the financial services industry a strong plus.
