Description

Ventyx, an ABB company, a leading provider of Equipment Reliability Software Products, is currently looking for a Web-based Software Developer/Analyst who would work with our Technology Integration and Software Development team to design, test, and implement technology solutions to meet the needs of a growing customer base. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain cutting edge skills in web and database technologies. You will provide input into strategic company objectives and the development of products and services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Coordinate the implementation of software development with Team Leaders according to priorities set by the company and Product Management team.

* Implement a variety of software enhancements using both web and database development skills

* Pursue training and development opportunities while striving to continuously build knowledge and skills that can be shared with the team.

* Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail, while consistently looking for ways to improve the development approach and promoting quality

* Provide feedback to management regarding methods to improve performance and efficiency

* Is self-motivated; can work independently while meeting deadlines and offering help to coworkers when needed. Identifies and escalates risks to Team Leaders.

* Analyze and strive for thorough understanding of customer business processes.

* Strengthen skills in web technologies including Microsoft C#/, database platforms including Oracle (9i/10g/11g) and Microsoft SQL Server (2000, 2005, 2008).

* Strengthen skills in reporting techniques and system integration techniques including ETL tools and Web Services.

Required Experience and Knowledge:

* Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and time management skills.

* Ability to work autonomously and manage complex tasks.

* Ability to work on projects as part of a team.

* Willingness to travel and interact directly with customers.

Required and Preferred Technical Skills:

* Web technologies: C# / (2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0), HTML/XHTML, JavaScript, CSS

* Database technologies: Microsoft SQL Server (2000, 2005, 2008) / T-SQL Procedures; Oracle (9i, 10g, 11g) / PL/SQL Procedures.

Applicable Education and Background Experience:

* Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology or Management of Information Systems.

* Work related experience in a software development or information technology companies or departments.

Additional considerations for work related experience in power generation (nuclear, fossil, hydro, combustion), transmission and distribution, or petro-chemical industries.
