Contributo State/City (US) CO - Westminster Country United States Job Description This position is for a junior software developer in Avaya's contact center R&D organization. You will join a team building a new call- and work-assignment solution for contact centers.
In this role you will: collaborate on the design, development, and testing of various aspects of this new product. You must be a proficient programmer in Java (we use Eclipse Enterprise), and in C# (we use Visual Studio) working in a Windows environment. In addition to developing software, you will be required to write, review and execute unit and functional level test plans for these components; and take on other documentation, development and testing tasks as needed by the project. You will have close interaction with other testers and developers, and you will likely also have some direct interaction with product management and customers. (THIS JOB SUPPORTS THE DEVELOPMENT OF CUSTOMER PRODUCTS.)
Your responsibilities will include implementing an API between the work assignment solution and a third-party product that will be used by customers to configure the solution. You will also be responsible for implementing interfaces between the technology developed by the team in Colorado and a product being developed by another Avaya team in Ireland. While the majority of your initial work will be done at this interface level, you may also be required to program, test and debug at the product's infrastructure (compiler/parser) level, or at the user interface level. Qualifications Basic Qualification: This position requires a BS or BEng degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering, and programming experience using C# and Java.
The candidate must be available to physically work in the Avaya Westminster, Colorado location. Domestic and international travel may occasionally be required.
Preferred Qualification: A Masters degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in the following areas: . Programming experience using C#. Java, Visual Studio, and Eclipse Enterprise . Advanced Java (generics, concurrency) . JPA, JAX-RS, JAXB (e.g. RestEasy JAX-RS framework, EclipseLink JPA framework, Jackson JAXB framework) . Ant, JUnit . Relational database theory and SQL (normalization, referential integrity, transactions) . JSON & XML serialization . Experience implementing high capacity, high-availability redundant systems . Professional experience or recent course work in performance optimization . Professional experience or recent course work in compilers, grammars and parser design . Experience with networking (TCP/IP, UDP Sockets) . Experience programming for telecommunications systems . Experience working with Agile development; Certified Scrum Master training is a plus.
