The Software Engineer will develop and maintain software products in a team environment. Includes design, specification, coding, and unit testing. Work with other departments as needed to meet specifications and support other department's requirements
Specifically, the Software Engineer will: .Work with senior software engineers to implement software projects .Provide schedule estimates and implementation plans as requested. .Produce finished software application products. .Unit test code for function and suitability to purpose working with the product department as needed .Provide progress feedback to SW manager .Comply with and ensure department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies. .Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
Qualifications include: .BA/BS or advanced degree in Computer Science or equivalent .Minimum 3 years experience as a software engineer .Experience with full lifecycle software development, including activities related to design, implementation, test and qualification of Software. .Languages: Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C# .Scripting: BASH, CSH, SH .Experience with integrating video surveillance hardware, codec's and network streamed video .Experience developing software applications communicating with multiple distributed devices .Development using ActiveX components .Web-based user interface development using JavaScript and Tomcat .Database development experience(SQLite, PostgreSQL, MySQL) .Integrated Development Platforms: Eclipse, Visual Studio, Code Warrior .Operating Systems Knowledge: Windows XP/Vista/7, Linux (CentOS/RedHat) with WinCE, Solaris a plus .Platforms: Intel x86, Freescale/ARM with SPARC a plus .Good verbal/written communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
Skills preferred, but not required: .Embedded SW development experience in WinXP/WinCE and Linux .Development experience working government programs .EE or Electronics Technician course work .Ability to assist hardware and systems engineering in debug of hardware at the hardware/software interface level .Experience with logic analyzer, oscilloscope and digital volt-ohm meter and other test equipment
