Job Description: Software Engineer IV (QA - Driver- FC)
This is an excellent opportunity to join Cisco's latest acquisition, Nuova Systems. We are looking for candidates who strive in a fast paced start up like environment. You will be part of an experienced team working on next generation data center products. The work involves verification of products using innovative technology such as I/O virtualization for VM environments and I/O consolidation via Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) specifically designed for data center needs, validating various adapter cards (HBA, PCI-e NICs, RAID Controllers) these adaptors provide host level Fiber Channel and Ethernet functionality with some value added PCIe and memory operation capability. Validating Drivers associated on different operating system and virtual environments.
Key responsibilities: . Develop Test Design and Test Logic detailing required functionality . Responsible for the SQA ownership of some or all of Driver modules. . Study industry specifications, vendor's hardware documentation, then implement test supporting Drivers into SQA . Validate Release and Certification process. . Design and Setup Large Virtualized Datacenter lab network
Mandatory Skills: . Good hands on PCI-e architecture, validating PCI-E and PCI-X. . Validating USB devices, ports, and concepts. . Validating various HBA cards on FC protocols, SAN, FCoE protocols. . Sound knowledge on Storage Configurations, validating various RAID Levels with raid controllers, with a good understanding of SAS, SATA and iSCSI concepts. . Raid and FC adapter drivers on various OS flavors. . Working exp on multiple OS which includes windows & Linux flavors.
Additional Skills: . Knowledge on virtualization platforms like VMware is an added advantage. . Strong knowledge of Linux OS behaviors . Used tools such as Analysers/Jammer for monitoring FC/FCoE traffic. . Scripting ability in TCL or Perl, and knowledge of integrating the scripts and automation in the test framework. . PC architecture and knowledge of x86 architecture . Good understanding of advanced software engineering processes and methodologies
Experience:
. 7 to 9 years of relevant work experience . BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or other relevant field
