Job Description: This job is for sr Software Developer who is responsible for integrating different engineering and product development sub systems with Engineering tools. Participate in develop tools and to support Cisco Engineering services.
Responsible for the development, support and integration of Cisco's highly visible global Source Code Control management system to further advance Cisco's best in industry source code development practices and improve customer satisfaction.
Engineers will develop new tools and maintain existing tools, which also includes architecting solutions, providing tech talks, vendor evaluation, proof of concept, contingency planning, task scheduling, application performance, usability, application upgrades and communicating with the user community. Participation in these activities involves both the Engineer's immediate team and broader teams with representatives from world-wide, cross-functional client groups for the planning, development and deployment of the application enhancements and fixes.
Skills required .....
Requires a high level of demonstrated experience in executing high complexity tasks as a member of a development team, with a strong emphasis on coordination with various cross-functional groups and project stakeholders.
Mathematical and analytical abilities are desirable for writing trending reports and metrics based on defect data. Business knowledge of Cisco's products and engineering infrastructure is required. Experience in integrating source code control, build, sync and defect tracking tools will have advantage in job work. Understanding of engineering quality programs and initiatives is essential.
Ability to work well with junior and senior level technical contributors, senior management, clients and application vendors. Ability to consistently deliver on tight deadlines. Leadership and excellent communication skills (verbal, written) an absolute must. A working knowledge of Perl, JAVA, C, Unix & CVS and Clearcase is required. Energy, enthusiasm, drive and a sense of humor are expected.
