Description: Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems is seeking an Oracle DBA with a software development mindset looking to join a team developing a Service Oriented Architecture integrating scores of Oracle databases on both Linux and Windows platforms. The ideal candidate will be able to support the following activities: Coordinate and document dependencies with other teams; Develop technical deployment plans and schedules; Track database-related software change requests; Write design documentation and technical memos; Enforce configuration management best practices. The candidate must also be able to demonstrate the following technical skills: Develop methods for implementing information life cycle management; Performance tuning and analysis at the OS, instance, and application level; Trace file analysis; Build and administer development and test databases; Assist application developers with database problems; Upgrade and apply patches to databases; Security hardening; Installation automation; Troubleshooting; Develop Perl scripts.
This position is posted as a dual salary band 03/04. The candidate's skills and qualifications will determine the appropriate salary band.
Qualifications
Must possess a Bachelor's degree in a technical arena coupled with a minimum of six years of experience developing, administering, and troubleshooting Oracle databases; Minimum of three years of experience working with Oracle in a Linux or Unix environment; Demonstrated experience in a software development environment; Demonstrated written communication skills; Requires a an active DoD Secret clearance to start and the ability to obtain a Special Access clearance in a timely manner.
