Job Description

This job is focused on leading a team of software engineers working in an engineering department.  The job also requires the ability to provide software design input and direction for enterprise software development efforts.

Candidates should be experienced in designing and building service-based solutions in a large, complex, multi-project environment. ​ Candidates must have a solid understanding of enterprise architecture along with software development processes and methodologies.  This position also requires a strong ability to assist customers with business requirement analysis in order to facilitate communication between business owners and engineering.

This position will work with confidential and proprietary information that requires a signed IT Employee Invention and Confidentiality Agreement upon hire.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology plus five or more years of experience as a lead/principle engineer in a large, complex, full SDLC environment doing analysis, design, hands-on development and delivery of services-based applications. ​ Intermountain Healthcare verifies both degree attainment and educational institution accreditation following an offer of employment.
• Four or more years of work experience with Java/J2EE
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of business and delivery both verbally and in writing
• Ability to influence large teams to solve complex problems
• Must be able to work in a matrix organization and team environment
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Self-motivated individual with ability to rapidly adapt to new environments and changing requirements
• Ability to deliver given challenging deadlines
• Service-oriented: strong interpersonal skills with a focus on delivering service to clients on other teams
• Possess good organizational skills required to support multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with web service development
• Experience with application migration from mainframe to service oriented environments
